Young mothers empowered in Kasese Municipality

BY ISAAC MUMBERE

Five young mothers who have been acquiring skills at Rwenzori Community Development Network (RCSNET) in the Railway Ward of the Central Division in Kasese Municipality have been given tailoring machines for use to fight unemployment.

The tailoring machines were given to the beneficiaries including Veronica Biira, Joy Biira and Anita Masika among others by the Organization’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Mugisa Ndyakurungi after undergoing training for six months.

Mr. Ndyakurungi advised the beneficiaries to go out and establish their workshops at strategically located places in an attempt to meet the organization’s goal of helping the young mothers get self employment and be able to look after their families.

Ms Annah Masika, one of the parents of the young mothers who attended the ceremony, observed need for the beneficiaries to make a reflection of the situation they were in before they were picked by the organization to acquire vocational skills.

She used the same platform to advise them to embrace the idea of saving part of the money that they will be earning from the tailoring business.

Rev. Barnabas Kathembo, who also graced the function, asked the beneficiaries to utilize the opportunity of acquiring skills to earn a living.

The beneficiaries commended Rwenzori Community Development Network for considering them to benefit from the support.
