BY JOACKIM KULE

Married women in Kasese district have been discouraged from the practice of overtaking the powers of their husbands.

The discouragement was sounded today by Rev. Anna Tumusiime, the Vicar at Kasokero Anglican Church of Uganda Parish while solemnizing over a Holy Matrimony between Mr. Obed Kule Kithende Kibaya Sibaminya, a renowned Lhukonzo News Anchor at South Rwenzori Messiah Radio and Susan Asasira at St. John’s Kisinga Church of Uganda Parish, Kisinga Archdeaconry in South Rwenzori Diocese.

Rev. Tumusiime explained that women needed to be submissive to their husbands and respect them.

The Church Minister, who was preaching from the Biblical Book of Genesis 2:18, also noted that it was not good for a man to live alone since a woman was created to live with him so that they work and plan together.

Earlier, while tying the knot, Mr. Kithende had pledged to love Asasira as she also pledged to respect Kithende for the rest of her life.

Later, their guests were hosted at Mr. Kithende’s home in Kyanzababiri – Kasokero village, Kyondo sub-county.

Among the guests that embraced the function was the Chairperson Board of Directors of South Rwenzori Messiah Radio, the Rev. Eng. Gabriel Fataki.
