UPDF warns against bribery

The Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) has warned that it will not entertain people who might be tempted to solicit money (bribes) from the candidates who have been shortlisted for physical interviews starting from Monday July 01 to July 10, 2024.

UPDF yesterday released a schedule for recruitment of 578 young people into the forces in the entire Rwenzori Sub-region.

Maj. Bilal Katamba, the UPDF Public Relations Officer for the Mountain Division and Operation Shujja says the recruitment exercise is free for all interested persons, vowing to arrest whoever would be sighted having solicited for funds from candidates in disguise of helping them join the forces.

He also adds that they expect only those people who have been shortlisted to appear at the recruitment grounds or centres with all their credentials including an original identity card and academic transcripts.

Maj. Katamba puts it categorically clear that the candidates that shall be successful shall not be allowed to go back to their respective homes because they shall immediately be taken to the training centers.

In Kasese, the recruitment will begin on Monday at the Booma Grounds in Kasese town near the RDC’s office.
