The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) today morning successfully kicked off the Uganda Certificate of Examinations (UCE).
The exams commenced with mathematics in the morning and chemistry in the afternoon.
In Kasese Municipality, Mr. Joseph Nzukwa, the area UNEB Supervisor and Head teacher at Kasese Secondary told our reporter that new curriculum candidates and those transitioning from the old curriculum participated in the exams based on their performance from the previous year.
He reported a positive start of the exams, adding that he did not receive complaints from candidates.
Mr. Jockus Masereka, the Head teacher at St. Paul’s Vocational Secondary School – Kamaiba told the press that all the 51 registered candidates turned up for the exams under the new curriculum while three candidates sat for their transitional chemistry paper under the old curriculum.
Mr. Enock Bwambale, the Deputy Head teacher at Standard High School – Nyamwamba Division, said he was thankful to God for according his candidates good health during the ongoing exams. He reported that all the 98 registered candidates attended the exams.
Meanwhile, Ms. Justine Muhindo Mutabazi, the Kasese District Assistant RDC, who monitored the progress of the exams in Kasese Municipality, said she did not observe any challenges, commending school heads for their timely preparations.
