Two arrested for stealing 2 goats in Muhokya-Kasese

Authorities in Muhokya Town Council, Kasese district are holding two suspected thieves for allegedly stealing two goats from Rutooke Cell.

The goats that were stolen on Friday morning in the wee hours belong to Moses Asiimwe Araali, a resident in the area. 

Araali told Messiah Radio on Friday morning that two people stormed his home at 4:00am and broke into the goat’s house, running away with two goats that the immediately slaughtered.

When Araali learnt that thieves had broken into his goat’s house, he immediately woke up and ran after them. During the incident, one of the suspects fell into a pit as he was trying to run. He was subsequently arrested and handed over to police at Muhokya police station.

Mr. Robert Guma, the Chairperson Local Council III for Muhokya Town Council who confirmed the development to the press warned the local leaders against their alleged involvement in the theft cases in the area.

According to Guma, some investigations indicate that some of the leaders in the area could be coordinating with the thieves to steal the residents’ property.

Guma categorically put it clear that during the operation aimed at arresting the suspected thieves in the area, the Local Council I Chairperson was also arrested for allegedly coordinating with the thieves.
