BY JONAN MUZIGITI

Students have been called upon to use new technologies to advance research and learn new techniques and skills that are essential in the day-to-day life of people.

Mr. Louis Muhindo Ngobi, the chairperson Rwenzori High Old Students Association-RWEHOSA, who was addressing students of Rwenzori High School yesterday during the careers’ day celebration the school campus in Ibanda-Kyanya Town Council, noted that technology is now integral part of all professions.

Mr Ngobi, who is also the principal administrator at Yumbe Regional Hospital, argued that adapting to new technologies will enable young people to keep abreast with new developments in their dream careers.

He cautioned students against misuse of internet technologies and social media but rather implored them to use them as tools to widen their scope of knowledge.

Dr Loice Kabbyanga Fataki, who is also an Old Student at Rwenzori High School, urged students to be ambitious and work towards the realization of their big dream.

Dr Loice Fataki particularly warned young people especially girls to desist from engaging in pre-marital sex which exposes them to teenage pregnancies and early marriages and their attendant impact on their future.

Meanwhile, Mr Enoch Mugabi the head teacher Rwenzori High School appealed to parents to cooperate with the school management so as to improve the standards of the education facility that was once the academic giant and centre of academic excellence in the Rwenzori region. ENDS
