The Office of the Bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese has gifted two parishes with brand new motorcycles and a laptop to Kagando School of Nursing and Midwifery.
The beneficiary parishes include Muhokya in St. Paul’s Deanery and Nyakatoke in Kasese Archdeaconry. The brand new motorcycles are registration numbers UGD 636Z and UGD 682Z respectively.
At the same event, Kagando School of Nursing and Midwifery in Kisinga Town Council was given a brand new laptop to support the academic activities at the institution.
While handing over the gifts to the beneficiaries at St. Paul’s Cathsdral in Kasese town, Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku reiterated that the gifts especially motorcycles are not meant to benefit the individual priests but the entire parish and observed need for the motorcycles to be handled with care through regular maintenance.
The Prelate also explained that the laptop given to Kagando School of Nursing and Midwifery was meant to ensure the safety of academic records of the students.
Rev. Capt. Godfrey Mulekya, the Vicar at Muhokya Church of Uganda Parish and Rev. Deacon Simon Masereka, the Vicar at Nyakatoke Church of Uganda Parish, hailed the Bishop for his tireless efforts towards ensuring the smooth running of the Church Ministry.
Today’s donation makes a total number of about 50 motorcycles that the Bishop has been able to give to the various parishes across the Diocese to ease the transport means of the Priests as they perform their mission and evangelism activities. ENDS
