Seventh Day Adventist Church to create a new Field (diocese)

BY JOACKIM KULE

The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Uganda is set to create a new field, or diocese, in Bundibugyo district, which will be carved out of the existing Rwenzori Field headquartered in Kasese.

This move aims to decentralize leadership and bring services closer to the people.

The announcement was made yesterday by the President of the Union of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Uganda, Pr. Dr. Moses Maka Ndimukika during a service where six new pastors were ordained.

The new diocese will cover parts of the current Rwenzori Field, which spans five districts: Kasese, Bunyangabu, Ntoroko, Kabarole, and Bundibugyo.

Although the exact boundaries of the new field are yet to be disclosed, Pr. Dr. Ndimukika expressed confidence that the Christians in Bundibugyo are ready to host an independent field.

The ordination of the six new pastors, including Semu Kirongotse, Wilson Bindu, Peter Baluku, Nason Nturamanya, Hanington Murongo Baluku, and Samuel Bwambale, marked an exciting milestone for the church.

Pr. Dr. Ndimukika urged the newly ordained pastors to spread the gospel, teach, baptize, and make disciples of Jesus Christ, starting from their own homes.

This development is part of the church’s efforts to expand its reach and services across Uganda.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Uganda has 12 fields and a significant presence in the country in Kasese, Bunyangabu, Ntoroko, Kabarole and Bundibugyo. Speaking to the press shortly after being ordained, the pastors vowed to work for the lord with all their hearts.
