S2 expectant young girl seeks for support to facilitate her delivery in Kasese

A 16-year-old expectant girl at St. Kizito Secondary School in Mahango Sub-county, Bukonzo County East in Kasese district has called for support from Civil Society Organizations and other well-wishers to facilitate her delivery.

The victim who is in Senior Two claims to be eight months pregnant. According to her, she was impregnated by a 17- year-old boy who is also a student but at a neighboring Secondary School.

The teenager disclosed to Messiah Radio today morning that despite being taken to a health facility for antenatal care by her biological mother, she has failed to raise funds to procure the mama kits and other materials needed during delivery and yet she is expected to deliver in a few weeks to come.

She, however, happily told our reporter that discovering that she had been impregnated, her parents continued facilitating her education and taking care of her while at home.

Mr. Moses Bwambale Kakyanga, the Deputy Head Teacher at St. Kizito Secondary School –Mahango, says despite reporting a case of defilement to police, no action has taken place.

He also notes that the school administration is now worried of who consult in case of any emergency as the victim is nearing her delivery.

Speaking to Messiah Radio in a telephone interview, Ms. Sylvia Kabugho, the victim’s mother after reporting the matter to police and no action was allegedly taken, she decided to keep her daughter at home and take care of her due to her young age.

Mr. Julius Kule Kyasuba, the Mahango Sub-county L. C III Chairperson, who regretted the incident, stressed that the matter was not brought to the attention of his office.

He, however, advised the population to always report such cases to the relevant authorities so that justice is served.

    Parents should learn from this parent who doesn’t tolerate noise from the public however our advocates should come out like reach a hand Uganda among others
