Members of the various Rotary Clubs across the world have been asked to take advantage of their ever-increasing number and network to promote tourism especially in the East African countries of Uganda and Rwanda.
The call was made yesterday by some members of the Rotary Club Kigali Virunga based in Rwanda shortly after their one-day tour to the Queen Elizabeth National Park.
They also enjoyed an amazing boat cruise experience at the Kazinga channel.
Allen Kendungaobserved the need for protecting nature including the green cover in the National Parks and at water bodies, being a habitat for eye catching creatures which attract tourists.
Agnes Kagwisagye said there was need for Rotarians to organize trips to various tourism sites to experience the beauty of Uganda and Rwanda and then spread the message to the entire world.
ConfidentNiyizibyose, the Team leader from Rwanda, who disclosed that the population of all Rotary members has grown up to 1 million, said there was need to build connections to have all the intended purposes fulfilled.
Ronald Baluku Busimba, the Consoler Officer of the Uganda High Commission in Kigali who aided the team into Uganda and Kasese in particular, revealed that their Rwandan based office intends to promote tourism in Uganda for economic and commercial diplomacy gains.
