Rescued children from the flooding waters of River Mubuku safely living with their parents

The Police in Rwenzori East Policing Region, Kasese district have confirmed that two young boys who were rescued yesterday by the locals after they had been surrounded by the flooding waters of River Mubuku in Kisojo Lower, Mubuku Town Council are safely living with their parents.

The incident happened as the inexperienced and unsupervised young boys attempt to fish in the river.

The two were identified as Reagan Mumbere, aged 12 and Devis Mugume, aged 08 who are not siblings but neighbors.

According to Tumushime, SP Suzan Bwire, the DPC for Hima Division and her counterpart from Kasese Division, SP Wilfred Bagenda jointly conducted a successful rescue that was concluded at approximately 12:20am in the night.

The Regional Police Mouthpiece revealed that the Uganda National Meteorological Authority and the Ministry of Water and Environment had warned that the Rwenzori Sub-region would receive unpredictable weather changes in the near future.

Lawrence Rwabilinga, the father of Davis Mugume, one of the rescued children hailed the community members for their tireless efforts to have the lives of the victims rescued.
