The Police in Kasese district have warned the public to be vigilant of the criminal gangs operating within Kasese town.
The Rwenzori East Regional Police Spokesperson sounded the warning yesterday while addressing the press at Kasese Central Police Station.
He revealed that they had received intelligence information indicating that about two criminal gangs were operating in Railway and Kidodo cells.
According to him, the said gangs are reported to be cheating people, breaking into their houses and attacking the residents during the night hours.
He used the same platform to encourage the motorists and other road users to be careful and observe traffic rules during the Christmas festive season.
He stressed that police would deal with whoever would defy the guidelines designed to prevent road crashes during the festive season.
