Primary Schools in Kasese District that registered ungraded candidates in the recently released 2025 Primary Leaving Examinations (P.L.E) results have blamed the poor performance on the parents’ failure to cooperate with the administrators.
Today morning, our reporter visited some of the schools and interacted with their Head teachers.
Edson Masereka Mafunguro, the Head teacher at St. John’s Maliba Primary School in Maliba Town Council said the parents remained reluctant to play their responsibilities including providing midday meals to their children.
Paskezia Kabugho, the Head teacher at Ngaiga Primary School, revealed that they were facing a challenge of cinema halls which sometimes influence the learners to abandon attending classes.
Kabugho also said that some parents had taken education for granted to an extent of sending their children to school without the required basic necessities to facilitate their learning.
The Deputy Head Teacher at Ibanda Primary School,Patrick Kisembo, noted that some children sometimes miss classes to go with their parents in their gardens, hence contributing to poor performance.
Kisembo also wondered why some parents fully cater for their children after removing them from government grant-aided schools to private schools.
