Serving priests in South Rwenzori Diocese have been encouraged to strengthen their ICT skills as an alternative way of accessing information on time.
The encouragement was sounded today morning by the Diocesan Secretary, the Rev. Can. Nelson Walina while officially opening the Diocesan Performance Evaluation Meeting for the first quarter at Kamaiba Youth Centre in Kasese town.
The meeting was aimed at evaluating the implementation of the projects that had been planned for a period of three months from January to March this year in all Archdeaconries across the Diocese.
Rev. Can. Walina explained that the current world which has gone digital requires people who are good at using smart phones and other ICT gadgets like computers to enhance their access to information on time.
Commenting on the submitted performance reports from Archdeaconries and departments, the Diocesan Secretary applauded the implementers, noting they were spending in line with their budgets and work plans.
He encouraged the priests to sensitize the Christians at local church levels to embrace the saving culture for the Development of the Diocesan Trinity SACCO.
Rev. Peter Kamalha, the Diocesan Director for Planning and Development, who hailed the participants for their presentations, however emphasized need for quarterly reporting about the progress and challenges in their respective areas of jurisdiction.
