The management committee of Nyakabingo Health Centre II in Nyakabingo sub-county, Busongora County South in Kasese district has decried has reported a challenge related to insufficient supply of obstetric equipment at the facility.
Mr. Neckson Baluku Thalyabuhunga, the Chairperson for the Health Management Committee says midwives attached to the facility usually find it hard when it comes to attending to expectant mothers who seek antenatal care services from the health centre
Thalyabuhunga made the revelation yesterday afternoon during a community dialogue meeting that was held at the health unit’s premises.
According to him, the facility does not provide items that the midwives use during the process of helping the mothers to deliver their babies safely.
He, however, attributed the challenge to the lack of a maternity ward at the facility, appealing to the community members to put in a helping hand as they wait for government.
Mr. Augustine Octovia Nguru, the in-charge at Nyakabingo Health Centre II discouraged the community from despising the facility, asking them to make use of the existing staff.
