The Police in Kasese district have launched investigations to ascertain the reasons why one of their own junior officers ended his life by shooting.
It is reported that at around 11am while in the barracks in Kasese Town , PC 75636 John Kanene, a Mugwere by tribe from Budaka district in Eastern Uganda shot himself dead for yet unknown reasons.
SP Luke Mbusa, the Rwenzori East Regional Community Liaisons Officer, has confirmed the development to Messiah Radio and said the deceased was attached to Kasese Division.
According to him, a team of counselors and investigators from police would be deployed to find out the reasons why the officer decided to kill himself.
