“People in the water stressed areas to receive water”, says Kasese Woman MP

Hon. Florence Kabugho, the Kasese District Woman Member of Parliament has started a borehole scheme that is meant to benefit the people in the water stressed areas.

The legislator revealed the development last evening while addressing the residents of Busongora County South at St. John’s Mithibiri Church of Uganda.

Hon. Kabugho told the gathering that after realizing that the people living in the water stressed areas across the district were suffering to access safe and clean drinking water, she decided to lobby the borehole project.

According to her, lobbied project would solve the challenge of people trekking long distances in search of safe and clean drinking water.

She also revealed that on top of the boreholes, she would revamp the services of the save a mother ambulance which was destroyed by fire last year as it was transporting a patient to Mbarara Regional Hospital.

Mr. Aganatious Kyadibire, the FDC Chairperson for Muhokya Sub-county had earlier reported to the legislator that the community in Kyapa village had started registering domestic violence cases followed the long distance trekked by women to in search of water for domestic use.

On his part, Mr. Emmy Bakengana, the Busongora County South FDC Secretary, requested the legislator to also lobby for a government secondary school in the area in order to curtail learners from walking long distances seeking educational services.
