Leaders of the Parish Development Model (PDM) Committee in Kasese District have been asked to be transparent and faithful while implementing the programme.
The remarks were sounded yesterday by the Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Elias Byamungu while addressing the PDM committee members during their meeting that was held at Kasese Youth Polytechnic in Nyamwamba Division, Kasese Municipality.
The meeting was aimed at equipping the committee members on how best they can handle the programme.
Byamungu told the participants that the programme aims at moving households from subsistence production to the money economy within five years with a goal to increase household incomes and improve the quality of life, a reason why its implementers should be transparent and faithful while handling the funds.
The Kasese District Commercial Officer, Simon Kasereka, warned the implementers against the practice of receiving bribes but encouraged them to follow the President’s directive and guidelines of the programme for its success.
He advised them to always sensitize the beneficiaries to stick on the enterprises that they selected in attempt to benefit more from the programme.
Mr. Julius Baluku, the District Production Officer lectured the PDM leaders on the need to serve with transparency and faithfulness in a bid for the programme to benefit the community and realize its intended purpose.
