Parents urged to give total care to their children in candidate classes

BY OBED KULE KITHENDE

Rev. Fr. Anyasio Mbusa, the Director for Caritas Kasese has appealed to the parents to give enough time and total care to their children who are in the candidate classes.

The Church Minister sounded the appeal yesterday while addressing the parents and guardians of the primary seven candidates at Margherita Demonstration Nursery and Primary School in Kasese town during their dedication mass ahead of the Primary Leaving Examinations expected to begin next week.

Rev. Fr. Mbusa who was the Chief Guest explained that if the learners are given enough time and care through the provision of scholastic materials and a conducive environment, they can perform well in class.

He thus discouraged the parents from assigning heavy duties to the children in their candidate classes during the examination period, adding that the act would pave way for them to concentrate on their books.

Rev. Dr. Eric Bikanja, who was the Co-guest, urged the parents to embrace the government’s slogan of taking children to school, stay in school and complete school. According to him, this can only be achieved if the parents play their distinguished roles and responsibilities fully.

The Man of God asked the parents to always cooperate with the teachers as a way of facilitating effective learning of their children.

He also observed need for the parents to nurture their children into God fearing citizens.

Mr. David Thembo Kabau, the Director for Margherita Demonstration Nursery and Primary School revealed that the institution has maintained its good performance for a number of reasons including unity among the parents and teachers as well as the care given to the learners. ENDS
