Over 41 shillings million has been recovered from fraudsters who have been soliciting funds from applicants pretending to reward them with jobs.

In 2024, the same organization also recovered 57 million shillings from fraudsters who had coned applicants promising to give them jobs.

Ronald Kato, the Executive Director for Kasese Youth Link for Development which has been on the fore front of searching for the suspected fraudsters says he felt concerned after looking at the plight of the victims.

He categorically puts it clear that most of the people who have been returning the swindled money from the victims are civil servants who claim to be agents of the Service Commission.

Responding about the corruption allegations in the Service Commission, the Kasese District Chairperson, Eliphaz Muhindi Bukombi revealed that today morning, he convened the District Executive Committee Meeting at his office and resolved that on September 25, Council would sit to listen to what transpired during the elections of the urban councils’ representative on the District’s Service Commission that saw Elijah Muhindo Kyetunda nominated.

He stressed that the council has the powers to approve or disapprove his nomination.

Speaking to Messiah Radio in a face-to-face interview, Kyetunda who has also been the acting Chairperson of the District Service Commission after the demise of Lawrence Tiruganya, refuted having received any sermon from police implicating him of receiving any money in form of bribe from job applicants.
