Over 200 students join Saad Memorial Secondary School on Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu bursary scheme.

Over 200 students have joined Saad Memorial Secondary –Kiburara in Kisinga Sub-county, Kasese district with sponsorship from the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu.

They were flagged off today afternoon by the Kingdom’s Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Joseph Kule Muranga at his office in Kasese town.

Muranga told the students that the cultural institution decided to secure some bursaries in fulfillment of Isaya Mukiania’s call to the subjects to desist from the use of spears and pangas but to use books and pens to fight against illiteracy.

 He explained that in addition to the 50 State House Scholarships at universities, the cultural institution secured more bursaries to benefit her subjects at secondary level. 

Some of the parents who had come to witness the event told Messiah Radio that they were excited when they saw their children board a link bus from Kasese town to Kiburara.

Mrs. Layer Biira Mutungwanda, a parent from Mubende district who had escorted 13 children, commended the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu for helping them educate their school going children.

Johnson Kisande, a resident of Rugendabara – Kikongo Town Council applauded the office of the Prime Minister for opening up the chance to everybody without looking at their places of origin.
