Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu is looking for over 1 billion shillings to have the cultural institution celebrate the 59th coronation anniversary of the King among other activities in her 5-year Development Plan.
The revelation was sounded today afternoon by the Kingdom’s Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Benson Kule Baritazale while unveiling two committees that are responsible for spearheading the Omusinga’s 59th coronation anniversary celebrations and his birthday run respectively.
The event was held at Virina Gardens in Kasese town.
The premier outlined a series of events that the Kingdom intends to hold prior and post the coronation anniversary, calling for intensive resource mobilization to make them successful.
Baritazale explained that the coronation anniversary would focus on the initiating development projects and laying down some strategies of implementing the 5-year Development Plan of the Kingdom as the cultural institution continues with her rebranding process.
Among the projects that the Obusinga intends to implement include the establishment of the Kingdom’s Radio Station to strengthen the communication process and improve the cultural values and norms among others.
Speaking in a jovial mood shortly after being appointed as the Chairperson for the Organizing Committee of the Coronation function, Mr. Mustafa Kikusa observed the need for networking and consorted efforts by the Kingdom’s subjects and development partners for the realization of the planned activities.
Other committee members are Rt. Hon. Partrick Baluku Muhesi as the Deputy Chairperson for the Organizing Committee and Rt. Hon. Noah Nzaghale among the 37 members and 11 advisors.
Hon. Yonah Tumusiime, the Minister of Protocol was also appointed as the Chairperson for the organizing committee of the birthday run slated for November 14. He is deputized by the Minister of Information, Mobilization and Kingdom’s Spokesperson, Hon. Geoffrey Kanyonyi and Ms Roset Masika among the 10 members. ENDS
