Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu warns social media users against the practice of disseminating inaccurate information

The Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu Deputy Minister of Information, Mobilization and Kingdom’s Spokesperson has warned all social media handlers within the Cultural Institution against the practice of disseminating inaccurate information to the public.

Hon. Barbra Kabanyoro specifically warns tiktoker, bloggers and influencers who according to her publish contents that portray a bad image to the cultural institution.

According to her, it seems some social media handlers are hired by people with selfish interests whose aim is to tarnish the reputation of Rwenzururu Kingdom.

She sounded the warning yesterday while addressing journalists, bloggers, tiktokers and influencers at Virina Gardens in Kasese town.

Hon. Kabanyoro instead advised the social media handlers to utilize their platforms to popularize positive messages as the Kingdom is still in her rebranding process.

Hon. Hosea Baluku commonly known as Jobless Billionaire, the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu Deputy Minister for Youth and Talents’ Development reminded the youth especially those using the different social media platforms that the Cultural Institution now promotes five pillars in her rebranding process.

The pillars include unity in diversity, peace building, reconciliation, mindset change and socio-economic transformation.

He also asked some local artistes to compose songs with positive messages about the Kingdom.

The Minister of Information, Mobilization and Kingdom’s Spokesperson, Geoffrey Kanyonyi, appealed to the subjects especially the youth to understand the value of social media and also stop the habit of sending naked pictures and videos on their various platforms.

Rt. Hon. Noah Nzaghale, the Speaker of the House of Representatives who represented the Prime Minister at the conference encouraged social media handlers and the entire youth to be innovative through applying the knowledge and skills they acquire from schools into practice.
