Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu Royal Guards ask for financial support from government

BY ISAAC MUMBERE

Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu Royal Guards have requested the King (Omusinga) Charles Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma to lobby for them financial support from government so that they are empowered to educate their children as well as looking after their families.

The Royal Guards through their Chairperson, Mr. Edwin Mumbere, sounded their request this evening while meeting the Omusinga at Kasese Better Living Centre in Kasese town.

They revealed that after being released from prison last year, some of them tried to secure funds from the government’s established pro-people programmes like Parish Development Model but they tossed out of the beneficiary groups because their National IDs were nowhere to be seen since they got lost during the November 2016 attack on the Buhikira Royal Palace and Administrative offices.

In his response, the Omusinga, who revealed that he was having the same idea in his plans, pledged to engage government to help the Royal Guards who had spent close to seven years in prison.

He, however, challenged them never to be lured by people with selfish interests as they wait for financial support from government.

Details of what transpired at the meeting will come your way in our subsequent News Broadcasts.  ENDS
