NUP warns the public against ill statements to the party

BY ISAAC MUMBERE

The National Unity Platform (NUP) in Kasese district has issued a warning to her members against the act of speaking ill against the party.

Mr. Bryans Basisa, the District NUP Chairperson says the act does not only undermine the integrity of the party but is also against the rules and regulations.

Addressing the press today morning at the party offices in Kasese town, Basisa also warned those intending to leave NUP after failing to adhere to her rules and regulations to control their tongues instead of belittling the integrity of the party.

According to him, the people who leave NUP and defect to other political parties are those who fail to get flags and declare to run as independent candidates, contrary to the party rules and regulations.

His warning comes after two of the party members including its spokesperson, Mr. Charles Kimerangwe declared to run as an independent candidate in the Bukonzo County East Parliamentary seat, 2026 while Moses Muhindo Sesabyona crossed to the ruling NRM party.

Mr. Basisa said it was good for the people who masquerade to be members of NUP to show their true colours when it is still early, appealing to the supporters to avoid associating with anybody who is not loyal to their party.

Mr. Jackson Mbaju Kathika, the Rwenzori Regional Mobilizer for NUP and former Member of Parliament for Busongora County South, demands for a public apology from the duo for allegedly accusing the party being corrupt, disorganized and dishonest.
