The Kasese District NRM Office has implored all party members and supporters across the district to overwhelmingly embrace the display and update exercise of the members’ register.
On March 05, President Museveni Kaguta Yoweri who is also the National NRM Chairperson launched the exercise and quickly announced that the exercise would tomorrow March 13 and end on Sunday March 17, 2024 at all villages across the country.
The District NRM Party Publicity Secretary, Mr. Johnson Kamalha Kalyasa says that all the 860 Village Registrars and their counterparts at Parish and Sub-county levels have been trained on how to handle the exercise.
Addressing the press today afternoon at the party offices in Kasese town, Mr. Kamalha strongly warned the members against multiple registrations. He also used the same platform to discourage members of the opposition from infiltrating the register.
The District Party Chairperson, Dr. Chrispus Kiyonga revealed that his office was awash with information indicating that there were groups of people planning to infiltrate the yellow book.
His counterpart from Kasese Municipality, Mr. Selevano Kiiro Mulhondi has also vowed any fraudulent activity or behaviour that might lead to infiltration of the register.
Addressing the press today morning at Trans Africa Inn Gardens in Kasese town, Mr. Mulhondi warned that he was ready to cause arrest of any party registrar who would not follow the guidelines. He urged them to take great care in order to avoid any incidence of fraud, forgery and manipulation.
He also explained that the people to appear in the yellow book should be known NRM supporters including those who recently crossed to the ruling party from opposition political parties.
