The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Youth leaders in Kasese Municipality have lashed at their party mainstream leaders for their alleged delay to organize a conference that is aimed at preparing for the forthcoming primary elections.

The Youth leaders from the three Divisions sounded their concern on Tuesday evening while addressing the press shortly after their meeting that was held at Virina Gardens in Kasese town.

Herbert Bwambale, the General Secretary for Kasese Municipality NRM Youth League explained that sometimes the party leaders betray the youth by beginning mobilization when it is too late, appealing to the mainstream leaders in the urban centre to call for a conference purposely to mobilize the members.

He, however, disclosed that as the Youth League that would soon call for their own conference to begin serious mobilization for the party.

He also encouraged the youth support their fellows who will have picked interest to vie for the directly elected positions in the forthcoming elections.

Morris Kabagambe, the Vice Chairperson for the Kasese Municipality NRM Youth League, stressed that yesterday’s press conference was meant to call on the youth to wake up since the mainstream leaders had allegedly failed to mobilize the party members.

Simon Bwambale Lhuhandia, the Chairperson Youth League for Bulembia Division, appealed to the youth who have picked interest to participate in active politics to show up and speak out.

Ellen Biira, a youth from Nyamwamba Division noted that as they are nearing the youth elections, females should strive to participate in those elections so that they too show their administrative skills.

When contacted, the accused leaders said the issue would be handled internationally within their structures. ENDS
