As the nomination of the Sub- County Chairpersons and their Councillors started today across the country, some candidates in Kasese district have pledged to work on some sustainable development projects for the benefit of the electorate.
In Kasese district, the exercise is being carried out at three centres including the district multi-purpose hall for candidate hailing from Kasese Municipality, Hima Town Council headquarters for candidates from Busongora County and Munkunyu sub-county headquarters for candidates from Bukonzo County.
Richard Bomera who is seeking re-election for the position of Bulembia Division Chairperson, who was duly nominated today afternoon, told the press that he would focus on the process of desilting River Nyamwamba Water Channel in order to control floods from straying into the communities.
According to him, he would make a follow-up on the numerous reports that had been submitted to the Central Government so that de-silting activities are prioritized.
Jane Biira, who is seeking re-election for the position of Woman Councillor representing the Railway Ward to the Central Division Council, said she would increase on the number of development projects already established in the area.
According to her, in the current political term, she lobbied for the market in Kidodo Cell, fought for the rights of housemaids and the people living with disabilities coupled with the erection of the monument belonging to the founding King of Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu.
Balam Baluku, the NRM flag bearer for the Central Division Chairpersonship, noted that he would play accountable leadership which is associated with promoting culture and talent development.
Jimmy Bwambale Kamusithu for Railway Ward to the Central Division noted that he was determined to advocating for improved health services in the area.ENDS
