Mundongo Primary School in Nyakiyumbu Sub- County, Bukonzo County West in Kasese district has emerged the winner of the 2025 district Music, Dance and Drama festivals.
The festivals that ended last evening at St. John’s Bukangara Primary School saw Mundongo score 1,124 marks followed by Kajwenge Primary School in Kisinga Sub – County with 1,079 marks and St. Anna from Kyondo Sub – County with 1,041 marks.
Other primary schools that participated in the festival are Nyakahya and Karambi from Karambi Sub- County. The first three schools qualified to join the regional music festival that will be held next week at Kibiito primary and secondary schools respectively.
Speaking at the festival, the Kasese District Vice Chairperson, Mr. Jerevesious Monday Bwambale observed the need for the private schools to always join such festivals.
He thus hailed St. Anna Primary school, the only private institution that bothered to participate in the festival.
Handing over the trophies to the best performing schools, Mr. Ezra Birahule, the Inspector of Schools in-charge of Bukonzo County West, pledged on behalf of the district education department to support the successful schools as they go to the next level.
