The former Kasese Forum for Democratic Change -FDC Chairperson has emphasized the need for authorities at Kasese District Local Government to prioritize investigations into corruption allegations placed on the District Service Commission.

Recently, the district council speaker Mr Johnson Mayora appointed a six-member committee to investigate the matter concerning related to corruption allegations and report to council at its next sitting.

However, another ten members of the district council challenged the decision of the speaker and have since petition the office of Chief Administrative Officer cautioning him against financing the probe committee arguing that the processes leading to the appointment of the committee were erroneous.

Now, while addressing the media yesterday at the FDC party offices in Kasese town Mr. Saulo said that it was unfortunate that there is a section of councillors who are hell-bent on frustrating efforts to investigate corruption in the service commission.

Maate however, hailed the district speaker for raising the issue, asking the district Chairperson Mr. Eliphaz Muhindi Bukombi to swing into the action and support the speaker’s move.
