Mr. Yofesi Douglas Saturday Madaraka has been dully nominated by the NRM Electoral Commission Chairperson, Dr. Tanga Odoi to participate in the party primary elections for the position of Kasese Municipality Member of Parliament.
Madaraka who returned to Kasese Municipality last evening was welcomed by his supporters at Mwaro and then moved in a procession to Kasese town.
Addressing supporters at his home in Kisagazi, Madaraka called for unity and cooperation among the voters as they mobilize votes for him so that he wins the party flag.
Meanwhile, Mr. Marisele Bwambale Mathina who is vying for the NRM flag for the position of Kasese District Chairperson returned to the district last evening after being nominated by the NRM Electoral Commission in Kampala.
He was welcomed at Rwimi Bridge in Rugendabara – Kikongo Town Council.
A group of voters who welcomed him pledged total support in the forthcoming primary elections.
Addressing the press later at Uhuru 50 Gardens in Kasese town, Mr. Mathina pledged that once given the mandate to lead the district, he would fight corruption in the public service.
He also promised to promote the tourism industry since Kasese is endowed with a good number of minerals.
