Preparations are in high gear ahead of tomorrow’s 2024 Miss Tourism Rwenzori Grand Finale at Uhuru 50 Gardens in Kasese Town.
Miss Tourism Rwenzori is an Annual Regional Pageant (show) that seeks to give human face to Rwenzori sub-region’s tourism strengths through pageantry by engaging talented young ladies to unveil a passion for promoting their region both locally and internationally.
The event is part of the activities of the Rwenzori Theluji Festival, a tourism festival that involves a community run, aerial tourism, greening and conserving the Rwenzori Eco-system, cultural biodiversity, business exhibition business summit and business workshop on mindset change, cleaning towns and other urban centres in the Rwenzori sub-region.
Queen Doreen Biira, the Brand Ambassador for Miss Tourism Rwenzori Pageant says six beautiful young ladies are currently in a boot camp undergoing several trainings at Virina Gardens in Kasese Town.
During the boot camp, the beautiful ladies are passed through capacity building, personal development and skills among others.
The six ladies in the race include Fortunate Muhindo, a 22 year –old student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Law, Beatrice Masika Byakutaga, also a 22 -year- old pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Law at Uganda Pentecostal University and Shivon Muganda, a 22 – year –old student pursuing a Diploma in Clinical Medicine at Kampala International University.
Others are Ronah Nakia, a 22 year-old student pursuing a bachelor’s degree of Arts in Social Sciences at Makerere University, Immaculate Patience, a 21- year -old student pursuing a course in enrolled Nursing at Kagando School of Nursing and Midwifery and Gloria Kabugho Musimenta, a 20 –year -old student of Fisheries Management and Technologies at the Fisheries Institute.
