The Ministry of Works and Transport has confirmed the rehabilitation works of Mundongo – Munkunyu road in Nyakiyumbu sub-county, Kasese district.
The development has been confirmed by the Ministry in a June 17 letter addressed to the Chief Administrative Officer, Kasese and signed by the Engineer in-chief, Mr. Samson Bagonza.
According to the letter, the rehabilitation works of the 8.3 kilometer road will be launched on Friday June 21, 2024 in the benefiting sub-county and Rotana International Limited has been contracted to do the work on behalf of government.
The rehabilitation works will involve site clearance, earth works, drainage works, gravelling and ancillary works.
The Ministry is optimistic that once the project is completed, it will contribute to the objective number three of the National Development Plan to consolidate and increase the stock and quality of productive infrastructures.
Mr. Peter Sunday Kakule, the Nyakiyumbu Sub-county Chairperson welcomed the project and said its launch would officially take place at Musyenene Trading Centre.
