The Government of Uganda through the Ministry of Education and Sports has confirmed the construction of Nyamwamba Seed Secondary School in Kasese Municipality.
Nyamwamba Seed Secondary School will be part of the 60 Seed Secondary Schools that will be constructed across the country.
Estimated to cost shillings three billion, the construction works of Nyamwamba Seed Secondary School will be funded by the World Bank.
Addressing the press yesterday afternoon at Virina Gardens in Kasese town, Hon. Ferigo Kambale, the Kasese Municipality Member of Parliament, said once completed, the project would create more jobs to the qualified teachers and also enhance access to education by the residents in the Municipality and surrounding areas.
He also used the same platform to reveal that he has been able to lobby five heifers (cows) from the NAADS Secretariat which will be given to churches and 90 piglets to be given to the community members in a rotational manner after multiplication.
He was optimistic that the project would help to improve the livelihoods of the community members.
The legislator also displayed a letter that he had written to President Museveni requesting him to look for special funds facilitate the de-silting works of the whole Nyamwamba Water Channel equivalent to 25 kilometers.
According to him, the project of de-silting River Nyamwamba Water Channel would cost government shillings 132 billion. END
