Hon. Godfrey Baluku Kabbyanga Kiime, the Minister of State in-charge of National Guidance has warned the residents in Kasese district against issues related to tribalism.
Minister Kabbyanga sounded the warning yesterday while officially commissioning a new administration block estimated at shillings 100 million at Lake – Katwe sub-county headquarters in Busongora County South.
Speaking to the residents who had the function, Kabbyanga instead encouraged the residents to works towards development and desist from tribal conflicts.
He explained that for a long period of time, Kasese District has been in a circle of tribal conflicts which according to him should be the root source of underdevelopment in the area.
Hon. Kabbyangaused the same platform to reveal that the Central Government had accepted Kasese, Ntoroko and Bundibugyo as refugee transits, implying that they would be receiving US dollars 140 million like the rest of the districts that host refugees.
The Kasese Deputy RDC in-charge of Busongora County, Joshua Katunda, said the government was committed towards creating a lasting solution to land conflicts in Kasese district.
The Kasese district Vice Chairperson, Jerevesious Monday Bwambale commended the leadership of Lake Katwe Sub- County for accounting to the residents through the construction of an administration block and pledged total support to the sub-county’s development.
He asked Minister Kabbyanga to amplify the voice of the district leadership agitating for the enhancement of the government’s employees working in the hard -to-reach areas.
