Local Council Courts warned against going beyond their mandate as they execute their designated duties

The Kasese Chief Magistrate, Her Worship Betty Ajok has warned Local Council Courts against going beyond their mandate as they execute their designated duties.

Her Worship Ajok sounded the warning today while officiating at the swearing in ceremony of the members of the Local Council III Court of Bugoye sub-county, Busongora County North in Kasese district who were recently appointed by the Sub-county Council.

The Chief Magistrate instead advised the members to work within their boundaries as stipulated by the constitution of Uganda.

Mr. Robert Centenary Muhesi Isingoma, the Bugoye Sub-county Chief advised the newly sworn in court members to desist from any form of corruption as they handle community issues including land and domestic violence among others.

Mr. James Katalikawa Muthulhanda, the Sub-county Chairperson, asked the court members to be exemplary to the rest of the community members.

Mr. Rabson Kaumali, the Court Chairperson pledged on behalf of the five- member team to exercise good leadership and vowed not to tolerate issues related to corruption during their term of leadership.
