Learners in Kasese urged to interest themselves in reading novels

Learners in Kasese district have been challenged to interest themselves in reading extensively in order to enhance their capacity of thinking and interpreting information.

The challenge was sounded yesterday morning by Mr. Alexander Balinda, the Director of Studies at Rwenzori High School in Ibanda –Kyanya Town Council, Busongora County North.

He was speaking to the learners during a function in which the institution was receiving the seventh consignment of English Novel books that were donated by the Kisangara Education Trust.

Balinda noted that reading enables learners to enhance their thinking, writing and interpretational capacities.

Mr. Yason Baluku, a representative of Kisangara Education Trust who delivered the books to the institution, appealed to the learners to embrace writing essays so that they become authors of information that would benefit the future generations.

Rophus Charity Kule, the Head Prefect at the institution told the gathering that through reading such story books, there has been an improvement in the English language.

Other students praised the donor and pledged to make proper use of the received books.
