Lay readers in South Rwenzori Diocese have been asked to embrace the saving culture as a strategy that could sustain their livelihoods when they retire from active service.
The remarks were sounded today afternoon by Lay reader Amon Bwambale Nzende, the Manager at South Rwenzori Diocese Trinity SACCO while addressing his fellow Lay readers from Kitabu Church of Uganda Parish in Kyarumba Archdeaconry during a financial literacy training that was held at St. John’s Mitibiri Church of Uganda.
Lay reader Nzende explained that financial discipline was key in every person’s life, a reason why he implored his fellows to embrace the saving culture so that the money that they save when they are still in active service assists them after their retirement.
In his remarks, Rev. Hezekia Mwanguhya, the Vicar at Kitabu Church of Uganda Parish stressed that as one way of enhancing the income of the church, administrators should open bank accounts in South Rwenzori Diocese Trinity SACCO so that they are able to acquire loans and establish some development projects.
Some of the Lay readers including William Muthirwa from Ninawe Murambi Church of Uganda and Juvenal Bwambale from St. John’s Murambi Church of Uganda testified that the SACCO was a real investment that has been able to support some church projects.
