Late Rev. Thembo praised for leaving a sounding legacy in South Rwenzori Diocese

Grief today afternoon engulfed the residents of Kitswamba Town Council in Busongora County North, Kasese district when the casket containing the body of Late Rev. Erifazi Thembo was being pulled down into the grave.

Late Rev. Thembo who was born on May 10, 1947 in Bunyamurwa village, died yesterday, October 15.

The deceased who has left 05 children and 25 grand children was commissioned as a Lay reader in 1994, ordained priest in 2007 and retired from active service in 2016 after starting Rwigho Parish.

Preaching to the mourners during the send off ceremony, the Retired and founding Bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Zebedee Kahangwa Masereka, praised the deceased for fighting a positive fight aimed at peace building and uniting the locals.

Bishop Masereka warned the public against championing fights that promote regionalism and tribalism, arguing that they cause under development.

According to him, the fights that the people should get involved in are those that have the potential to promote the spirit of brotherhood and harmonious living.

The Prelate discouraged the people from being rude, explaining that the world needs residents who cherish love and embrace forgiving their fellows.

At the burial service, the sitting Bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Nson Baluku was the main celebrant who was assisted by Rev. Can. Nelson Walina, the Diocesan Secretary, Rev. Can. Wilson Kighoma Nzaghale, the Rwesande Archdeacon and Rev. Joseph Nzale, the Vicar at Kitswamba Anglican Church of Uganda Parish.
