Kithulha Care Initiative (KCI) in partnership with Rwenzori Cares Organization (RCO) has launched a Skills’ Workshop in Kidodo Cell of the Central Division in Kasese Municipality.
The workshop which has been parked with tailoring machines, baby locks and zigzag machines aims at building capacities of communities through acquiring skills, knowledge, values and attitudes for self reliance.
Mr. Boaz Kule, the Director for Rwenzori Cares Organization, a community based and non –profit making organization that aims at lifting the standards of living of vulnerable people, told the gathering that workshop would cater for all categories of citizens including orphans, widows, young mothers, youth and people living with disabilities.
During the function, at least 86 students who have been undergoing a vocational skills’ training for six months graduated in tailoring, hair dressing and computer studies.
In his remarks, Mr. Francis Mugisa Kithulha, the major sponsor of Kithulha Care Initiative, told the congregation that his vision to skill the people is based on the need to have a self reliant society that is able to earn a living from the skills acquired.
According to him, he decided to sponsor the establishment of a skills’ workshop to help the students who graduate from the already established centres to practice what they have been studying and hence earn money to support their families.
He subsequently pledged to establish more skills’ workshops at parish levels in the entire Municipality to help the beneficiaries earn a living from them.
