The youth in Kasese Municipality have been urged to engage themselves in commercial sports activities for improved livelihoods.
The advice was sounded last evening by Mr. Neckson Thaheramboko while representing the Executive Director for the Uganda Youth Forum in the Office of the First Lady, Mr. Leonard Imanishimwe who was the Chief Guest at a football match between Legend Football Club and Kyondo Football Club. The match was played at Kanyangeya Primary School Playground in Nyamwamba Division.
Mr. Thaheramboko told the players and spectators that sports activities were some of the benefiting businesses that the youth should venture in so that they get money to sustain their livelihoods.
Mr. Edson Bwambale, the Director of Sports for team Imanishimwe, encouraged the parents to always support their children’s talents for their sustainability and subsequently handed shillings 400,000 to the two participating teams.
Mr. Wilson Muhesi and Mr. Salum Nziranguma, the major organizers of yesterday’s football match, explained that the event was meant to sensitize the youth and community members to always work for peace and unity among others.
