BY OBED KULE KITHENDE

The Kasese District Woman Member of Parliament has encouraged the implementers of the Parish Development Model to follow the procedures and guidelines so that the programme benefits the exact intended beneficiaries.

Hon. Florence Kabugho says the programme was designed to purposely to eradicate poverty from the communities and therefore it should not be politicized.

The legislator sounded the encouragement over the weekend while addressing the congregation at St. Luke Buzibwera Church of Uganda in Maliba Archdeaconry.

She suggested to the programme implementers to treat all the people equally without any form of segregation.

About skilling, Hon. Kabugho explained that she decided to establish some skills centre across the district so that the youth, young and single mothers acquire skills in tailoring and hair dressing and hence tap opportunities to enhance their livelihoods, appealing to the school dropouts to utilize the chance.

In his remarks, Mr. Saulo Maate, the former Kasese District FDC Chairperson hailed Hon. Kabugho for the initiative which according to him would go to help the beneficiaries earn a living and sustain their families.

Ven. Manasi Takwenda, the Archdeacon for Maliba Archdeaconry applauded the Woman MP for the good gesture of supporting church activities.
