Kasese Woman MP applauds South Rwenzori Diocese for its pro-people projects

The Kasese District Woman Member of Parliament has applauded South Rwenzori Diocese for initiating projects that are aimed at saving the lives of the people.

Hon. Florence Kabugho sounded the remarks last evening while presiding over a friendly football match between Messiah Radio and Kagando Rural Development Centre (KARUDEC) at Kagando Playground in Kisinga Town Council. The match ended in a draw of 1:1.

Organized under the theme, “Kick the Ball to Save Lives,” the event that involved free screening for various ailments and blood donation, attracted thousands of spectators who in one way or another celebrated the 62nd Independence Day for Uganda together.

In her remarks, Hon. Kabugho said she was happy with South Rwenzori Diocese for the provision of healthcare services and socio-economic programs to the people.

Rev. Can. Dr. Uzziah Kirigahe, the Executive Director at KARUDEC, commended the Government of Uganda for supporting and empowering the private sector to offer services to the citizens.

According to him, government gives 34 million shillings to Kagando Hospital on a quarterly basis to facilitate the provision of healthcare services to the community members.

Rev. Mathew Mbusa, the Station Manager at Messiah Radio hailed the participants for exhibiting high level of discipline and teamwork.

 During the event, Mr. Selly Saliki, a resident of Kitabu Sub County in Bukonzo County East, who was among the people who bought raffle tickets at shillings 10,000 won himself a new brand Haojue motorcycle that costs shillings 5 million. ENDS
