Teachers have been called upon to embrace a saving culture which is fundamental in enabling them to lead financially stable and independent lives.
Mr Erisania Kule, the chairperson Board of Directors at Bukonzo United Teachers SACCO emphasizes the need for teachers to always savings groups in their communities to make a saving from their earnings.
Mr Kule particularly appealed to the teachers within the entire Bukonzo County and all the people in the same area to make good use of the Sacco which he said has boosted the homestead incomes of its members.
He noted that Bukonzo United Teachers SACCO has potential to grow into a bigger financial institution with huge saving and loan portfolios enabling people to easy access to financial resources.
He made the remarks yesterday while delivering his speech at the 13th Annual General Meeting of Bukonzo United Teachers SACCO at Kisinga vocational secondary school in Kisinga town council.
Mr. Ernest Bwambale Thabugha the Kasese District Education Officer emphasized the need for teachers to diversify their sources of income so that they do not have to only rely on their monthly.
Mr. Ben Kirere emphasized the need for the leadership of the SACCO to put in place an infrastructure that will ensure continuity of the group even when the vision bearers are long gone.
