Residents of Kasese district have been tipped on the need to embrace blood donation as a crucial step in supporting the treatment of all patients in need of blood.
Dr. Julius Rude Monday, while addressing the people who had turned up for sports activities at Kisinga playground in Kisinga Town Council, Bukonzo County East yesterday, said donating blood has been proven to be a tested means to saving lives of various patients who need the blood at critical times of life and death.
He particularly highlighted new mothers and people involved in accidents among a group of patients that is made very vulnerable because of lack of sufficient blood in the hospitals and thus emphasised the need for people to donate more blood so as to give another lifeline to such patients.
Mr. Moses Bitswatswa, the Defense Secretary for Rwanguhya Village encouraged the public to also embrace frequent testing for ailments such that they can know health statuses.
He also observed the need for the people to always do physical exercises in order to build their bodies’ physical fitness which he said would be very vital in enabling them to prevent some diseases.
