Residents in Kasese district have been encouraged to embrace the idea of taking a lot of fluids in an attempt to avoid being dehydrated during the current dry season.
The encouragement was sounded yesterday by Dr. Amon Bwambale, the District Health Officer, while speaking to our reporter in an exclusive interview.
The District Health Boss explained that during such periods, people are supposed to drink at least two and a half liters of water on a daily basis in a bid to prevent being dehydrated that is associated with a number of illnesses.
He mentioned the illness as headache, flu, cough and malaria that can in most cases be prevented by taking a lot of fluids.
He also appealed to the communities to also reinstate the practice of masking their faces so as to prevent inhaling dust.
However, the Kasese Deputy RDC in-charge of Busongora County says he is concerned about the challenge of water shortage in some communities especially those living in Kasese town.
He advises the people to sparingly utilize the little that they might be having for drinking in order to guard their bodies from contracting diseases.
