Kasese RDC hands shillings 10 million to the administration of Muhokya p/s

The Kasese Resident District Commissioner has implored the parents to instill religious and positive cultural morals into their children in order for them to become reliable and responsible future citizens.

Lt. Joe Walusimbi sounded the remarks today afternoon while addressing the parents and guardians of pupils at Muhokya Primary School in Muhokya Town Council during a function in which he was handing over a donation of shillings 10 million from the NRM Secretariat.

The shillings 10 million was pledged to the institution in 2022 during a by-election for the Busongora County South Parliamentary seat. It is meant to facilitate the renovation works of a two-classroom block at the school.

Lt. Walusimbi explained that it was the role of the parents to ensure that their children are nurtured with holistic behaviours in attempt to prepare them for future leadership and serve the community without corruption tendencies.

The RDC who observed the need for the parents to provide scholastic materials to their children also encouraged them to always motivate the teachers using the lawful channels.

The Busongora County South Member of Parliament, Hon. Gideon Thembo Mujungu reiterated his call to the parents and community members to prioritize their children’s education for socio-economic development.

Mr. Yusuf Bwambale, the Head teacher at Muhokya Primary School, applauded government for facilitating the smooth running of the institution through timely remittances of teachers’ salaries and the capitation grants. He revealed that through the Nyamughasana Water Supply and Sanitation Project, the institution has been able to receive two water borne toilets.
