Kasese: Premises of Unique Valley Primary School closed

BY JOACKIM KULE

Authorities in Kasese Municipal Council have officially issued a notice of closure of the premises that Unique Valley Primary School has been operating from.

Dated February 04, 2025 and addressed to the proprietors of the institution of learning, the notice is signed by the Kasese Municipal Town Clerk, Geoffrey B. Bamanyisa.

Mr. Bamanyisa indicates that following the recent schools’ inspection, it was discovered that the institution did not meet the basic requirements and minimum standards as stipulated by the Ministry of Education and Sports.

The notice also directs the proprietors that upon receipt of the communication, they should arrange for the placement of their learners to the neighbouring schools which are authorized to operate.

The same notice reveals that their attention was drawn from the provisions of part VII of the Education (pre-primary, Primary and post primary) Act 2008 which relates to the operation of private schools.

However, the Kasese Municipal Principal Education Officer, Mr. Seth Ahebwa clarifies to Messiah Radio that they did not close the school completely, adding that its license and registration is still valid.

According to him, they only closed the premises but the proprietors are at liberty to find another convenient place to operate from after inspection.
