Kasese Police Urged to improve civil military relations

BY ISAAC MUMBERE

Police has been called upon to embrace and enhance its community policing which is key in reducing the rate of crime within the community.

Rev. Muli Kambale, the vicar of Mubuku Parish in Maliba Archdeaconry, the security agency should endeavour to sensitise the communities against crimes and also highlight the penalties for the given crimes adding that the practice will go a long way in preventing people from committing crimes.

Rev Muli made the call yesterday during a church service All Saints Mubuku Parish where police officers from Mubuku Police Station were animating service.

The man of God also argued that if the police and community relations are enhanced, the rate of criminality within the community reduces.

He also appealed to the security personnel to appreciate the fact that they are under the authority of God and must work towards the fulfillment of God’s dictates.

The officer in charge of Mubuku Police Station, Corporal Stephen Tibamanya, concurred with Rev Muli on the need to improve the relationship between security agencies and the community.

The community Liaisons Officer for Mubuku police station Ms. Grace Byengomesa while preaching to Christians and her fellows emphasised the need of respecting the law but also to cultivate a relationship with law enforcement agency.
