Members of the National Resistance Movement in Kasese district who recently successfully underwent the nomination exercise to participate in the party primary elections for the positions of Member of Parliament and District Chairperson have welcomed the idea of conducting joint campaign rallies.
According to them, the mode of campaigning together is the most important platform that influences the voters to judge and choose their candidate rightly.
The NRM candidates sounded the remarks today afternoon while speaking to the press shortly after a joint meeting in which they were being briefed and harmonized on how to hold rallies in the respective communities. The meeting was held at the party offices in Kasese town.
Mr. Sowedi Kitanywa, the Member of Parliament for Busongora County North who is seeking re-election says joint campaign rallies will eliminate issues related to defamation and propaganda since all the candidates will be present and with equal opportunities to highlight their manifestoes to the voters.
Ms. Diana Nasuna Ssembebwa who is seeking the NRM flag for position of Kasese Municipality Member of Parliament, asserts that the rallies will always pave the way for the candidates to reach their intended voters at the same time and hence allow them to interact and ask questions basing on the deliberations.
Ferigo Kambale and Yofesi Douglas Saturday Madaraka who are competing for the same flag and Dr. Julius Monday Rude who is looking for flag of Bukonzo County East observe the need for peace and unity during the joint campaign rallies.
